Awesome tunnel, city scene & Officer Joe!...
This layout is full of action. It takes you
from the edge of town, right into downtown.
The detail is truly amazing.
The shops near the passenger station, are
bustling with activity as people shop and
go about their daily business. This town doesn't
roll up the sidewalks at night, we turn on
the lights and stay open for business. In
the center of the layout, a powered crane
moves culvert pipes and scrap metal. Over
at the Ice House, down the road from the Police
station, Officer Joe is arresting Tom (the
county vagabound) for hopping trains (again).
We like to run this layout with two trains:
a passenger and a freight train. Often, the
freight train is parked on one of the three
turnouts ("switches") loading and unloading,
while the passenger train passes by. When
business is busy and a lot of freight needs
moved, we've also run this layout with 3 trains.
Don't forget to look overhead where two airplanes
circle the sky near the fishing hole.
Also, the supurb tunnel and mountain at the
other end from the stores show the use of
color, trees, shrubs, and even rock climbers.
You see them climbing up the face of the hill.
Notice the water and see the people watching
the climbers. Beautiful park setting with
relaxing benches and the great view.
Throughout the layout, the ground is covered
with grass, shrubs, trees, and ballast along
the edge of all the tracks, just like real
life! The track is the new Lionel Fastrac
which allows for smooth riding trains AND
looks great! |
